Mastercard announces the acquisition of Finicity

The credit card giant makes its own a company based in Salt Lake City (Utah) specialized in the collection and analysis of financial data: Mastercard today announces the acquisition of Finicity. According to Reuters reports, the agreement was reached against an economic investment of 825 million dollars.

An operation that fits with full rights in the FinTech panorama with Mastercard which will thus be able to strengthen its offer in the Open Banking sector, offering financial institutions and end users new ways of managing portfolios, expenses and data relating to the transactions carried out.



According to what is read on the pages of the official website, those who have already signed a partnership with Finicity in recent years include names of the caliber of Wells Fargo & Co, Fidelity Investments, Capital One Financial Corp and JPMorgan Chase. The acquisition will be closed definitively within the year.
