Jurassic World: Dominion, shooting ready to go

Jurassic World: Dominion, filming is ready to start again from 6 July, with the implementation of all the safety protocols necessary to avoid contagions.

While the activities in the world seem to restart slowly, despite the threat of the explosion of a new pandemic from Covid-19 is still around the corner, even the film industry takes some timid steps again. There are numerous titles whose release to the cinema has been postponed and on several sets the filming has been slowed down to such an extent that it has slipped the release for many months, however some productions demonstrate the desire to start again and resume works from where they left off.

Jurassic World: Dominion, the sixth installment of the franchise, is among them. The Jurassic World sequel directed by Colin Trevorrow, which sees the director return behind the camera for this title after giving way to Juan Antonio Bayona for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, will continue to be shot in the UK shortly after interruption of the work caused by the pandemic.

Trevorrow has a consistent cast and crew and keeping all the workers safe at work is certainly of great importance, however it seems that Universal and Pinewood Studios are implementing all the security protocols necessary to ensure the protection of everyone during the filming of Jurassic World: Dominion and to start shooting again from 6 July. There is no doubt that restarting the filming of a film of this magnitude has considerable costs, but in this regard Universal has said that currently the main concern of the cinematographic company is not the expense to put into practice all the procedures, as much as the staff safety.

Anyone who has symptoms will be immediately isolated before being sent home – he said one of the executives at Universal. We want to ensure we go beyond the national protocols to create a secure environment.

The security protocols for the protection from COVID-19, acts to kick-start the filming of Jurassic World: the Dominion, the attendance of a private hospital with doctors and nurses on site, the cabins of the insulation, stations, hand sanitizers, and the use of the mask for anyone who is not in front of the room; also the protagonists of the film, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard , will have to undergo a quarantine period of two weeks upon their return to the Uk.

The total cost for the implementation of the safety procedures would amount to about five millions of dollars , but the Universal seems to be determined to kick-start the filming of Jurassic World: Dominion and Colin Trevorrow has been instrumental in convincing the cast to start over even in a time of uncertainty.
