Is the PS5 event the most watched video game show in YouTube history? It's not for sure
According to Millie Amanda, YouTube Statistics Manager, the event dedicated to the reveal of PlayStation 5 was the most viewed videogame event in the history of the platform. The post published on Twitter by Amanda explains that "A total of 7.32 million people have tuned in to YouTube to see the PS5 presentation event. I can confirm that yesterday's event was the most viewed videogame streaming in the history of YouTube. It has passed all the revelations of previous consoles and all the shows of E3 ".
In short, an immense success for Sony's communication. Obviously the data refer are to "live" connections. The footage available on the PlayStation channel has already exceeded 11 million views, not counting other platforms such as Twitch.
In the aftermath of the show, Sony has returned to explain the choice of the dual model of PlayStation 5. Meanwhile, the analysis and discussions on the particular design of PlayStation 5 continue.
Update June 13 at 11:00 - We update this news because it has been discovered that there is no Statistics Manager named Millie Amanda serving YouTube . The Twitter account seems to be a fake, so we can in no way give for sure the figure of 7.2 million viewers on YouTube, nor say that it was the most viewed game event ever on the platform in the absence of more data concrete.
