Europe launches its "Booking" for safe travel
“After weeks of confinement, the EU's internal borders are reopening. The Re-open Eu website will help travelers, but also small restaurateurs and owners of hotels and cities across Europe that can draw inspiration from innovative solutions developed by others, "explained Thierry Breton, Commissioner for the Internal Market.
How the platform will work
Although they already exist sites with functions similar to those of Re-open Eu, the site created by the European Commission - available in 24 languages and in a mobile version - is the only one to offer detailed information relating only to travel, tourism historical and otherwise, on European soil. The platform is part of a package of measures to revive the tourism and transport sector launched on 13 May.users, in addition to receiving explanations of a practical type, or healthcare, will also have information systems and good support : a kind of voucher and useable by consumers in their own restaurants or hotels favorite, right after their opening. By purchasing a voucher, related to a specific service, businesses have undergone at the disposal of the liquidity to spend and re-invest, while the traveller already knows what kind of performance they will be offering.
Mariya Gabriel, european commissioner for Innovation, research, culture, education and youth, and responsible of the joint research Centre (Jrc), Re-open the Eu will allow all the citizens to “ start exploring Europe in a secure way” giving back the impulse to two fundamental sectors for the economy, culture and tourism .
The web site, will soon be joined by other projects. The platform for digital cultural Europeana will launch: The discovery of Europe , a collection of works of art and photographs of some of the monuments in europe the most characteristic, and Europeana Pro , specific hub for tourism, where will be listed all the european initiatives to support the sector.
