Bungie's project has finally been revealed: a unique ecosystem, "we will not add a new number on the cover" was the phrase chosen by Luke Smith to indicate Bungie's vision. It starts this summer and will arrive at least, for now, to 2022 with the big chapter provisionally called Lightfall. What was originally intended to be the basis of the possible Destiny 3 has instead been converted into a major expansion, due out on September 22nd: Destiny 2: Beyond the Light. Yes, because what has been announced is a clear stance by Bungie, a loud scream to the world of video games that the Seattle house has embraced a vision a year ago and has waited, patiently under a shower of expected criticism, for the moment in which he would reveal his great goal.

A great universe in evolution, not a series of worlds that evolve; this is Bungie's mission, this that which was even announced in 2013 and which had been modified and lost gradually. For many of you, it will be trivial to associate this mission with a title containing the words "mass multiplayer", but given Destiny's path as a franchise, we assure you that it was not so obvious. The announcement showed everyone how the development company had knowingly planned the division into seasons in order to offer a narratively and structurally valid content (at least on paper) able to offer players, but above all to fans, something strong. Pyramid ships have the same impact on paper as the arrival of Oryx in the first chapter. Everyone was waiting for them, everyone was imagining them and Bungie presented them with the load of ninety: the complete restructuring of the game. All of the proposed choices in this season are useful at the end of the narrative, but they are also a clear symbol of how Bungie has understood the message sent by the community.
