Cyberpunk 2077 has been postponed, it will not be released in September: here is the new date
Cyberpunk 2077, remember, was initially scheduled for April 16 this year , before suffering a postponement to 17 September. Today we learn that a Polish development company has opted for a further delay, which postpones the release of Cyberpunk 2077 to November 19.
With an official press release, co-founder Marcin Iwinski and the head of the studio Adam Badowski let us know that Cyberpunk 2077 is complete, both in content and in terms of gameplay. There are the quests, the cutscenes, all the skills and the objects. In any case, the team prefers to take some more time to finish everything. The goal of the developers is to make a game that will keep you entertained for years, so it is imperative that all systems are functional. "With so much content and the systems that interact with each other, we have to control everything, balance the game mechanics and solve a lot of bugs. A gigantic world requires a lot of filings, which is exactly what we will do over time add-on ".
CD Projekt RED, like all development companies, also had to deal with the inconvenience caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. With the aim of protecting the health of its employees, it was one of the first software houses to reorganize itself to allow remote work. We don't know if this affected the development time and, therefore, the decision to postpone the game again. In recent months the developers had reassured us several times about the good progress of the works.
